A Winchester homeowner was frustrated by an extremely noisy furnace located in the garage. The blower motor noise was so loud that it could be heard throughout portions of the home, creating an ongoing nuisance and reducing overall comfort. The homeowner wanted a permanent solution that would eliminate the noise while maintaining reliable heating and cooling performance.

The Noise Problem

After evaluating the system, we determined that the location of the equipment was a major contributor to the homeowner's concerns. The furnace and blower assembly generated significant operating noise that transferred into adjacent living areas. Simply replacing individual components would not fully address the issue, so we developed a more comprehensive solution.

Furnace Relocation and System Upgrades

To eliminate the noise issue, we relocated the entire HVAC system from the garage to the attic. This project required extensive modifications, including redesigning portions of the ductwork, upgrading electrical connections, and installing a new refrigerant lineset. Careful planning and installation ensured that the relocated system would operate efficiently while delivering proper airflow throughout the home.

Results

The attic relocation successfully eliminated the excessive noise that had been affecting the homeowner's comfort. With the equipment moved out of the garage and the supporting upgrades completed, the home now enjoys quieter operation, improved comfort, and reliable heating and cooling performance. The project not only resolved the noise complaint but also provided a cleaner and more efficient HVAC installation for the future.
